mahatma Gandhi setu at patna (bihar)

Mahatna gandhi setu is a bridge over ganga river connecting patna to hajipur in the north bihar.It was the longest river bridge in India at the time of its construction. It was inaugurated in May 1982 by the then Prime Minister, Mrs Indira Gandhi.Its length is 5,575 metres (18,291 ft) which makes it was one of the longest bridges in the world. There are 48 pilers to this bridge.

THE contruction of setu starts on 1972 and it ends on 1982.people starts using this on may 1982.The material used in setu are concrete &steel.
